Sinai has much more to offer than just the diving spots around Dahab. The landscape is spectacular and a lot of areas are declared as national parks since years. Naturally we don’t want to keep those placed from you and would like to join you on a discovery tour.
Ras Mohamed, situated in south Sinai, where the gulf of Aqaba meets the gulf of Suez, and it is the most famous of the national parks. The park holds a surprise for every taste: mangroves, sand dunes, fossilized reefs, huge flocks of immigrating birds in spring and autumn, strange rock formations and naturally wonderful coral reefs. We arrive to our base on the beach in Ras Mohamed after around a two hours drive from Dahab, where our Bedouin friends have already prepared the spacious tents, a big tea pot is already boiling and the smell of food is in the air. A couple of steps away from our camp, an amazing coral reef is waiting for us to dive it, and from every direction, there is no one else except us. At the evening we gather around the camp fire and watch the night sky.
On the next day to go to Nabq, which is another protected area where the Bedouins are living their traditional life style. You can find the northern mangrove as well as a couple of special diving places which only a few people know.
We offer daily trips as well in our program, for example a one day camel safari to Abu Galum, a rough mountain landscape to the north of Dahab, and along with a small pathway parallel to the coast line, a coral garden stretches till Abu Galum, where both divers and snorkelers will be fully satisfied. And as always we have there our friendly Bedouins to arrange our well being.
For non divers, and all the people who would like to stay dry for a day, we offer many interesting trips. The area of St. Katharina which was declared a national park where you can find the highest mountain in Sinai which its rocks belongs to the oldest in the world. At the bottom of Sinai mountain, where Moses, supposedly, received the ten commandments, you can find St. Katharina´s cloister. The most favored program is to climb down from Moses mountain by sunrise and then visiting the cloister complex.
Another highlight is the Colored as well as the white canyon, which were formed by the forces of nature, offering strange stone formations from sandstone and granite painted by basalt and other colored sediments. We drive with a jeep across the desert till the entrance of the canyon and from there we let the natural show perform its magical effect on you.
